0Such a hectic weekend in Prague. Prior to the event everyone anticipated a big clash between the EMS finalists wW and Anexis eSports and this event had everything besides that. Sadness, happiness, joy and sorrow played a major part. Who would've predicted that we will see Anexis getting out in groupstage, that the dark horses CRACKED will secure their spot in the grand final?
But yeah, that actually happened. Eventually we crowned the new champion in the shape of Western Wolves, who showed some great performance and confirmed their flawless win without a single match lost, bringing the title back to their headquarters.
First day started of quite interesting, wW put out a great performance right from the start, winning all of their matches in the first stage, advancing to the playoffs with eSuba, TCM-Gaming and Team pr0perty following their trail.
Second group was predicted to be an easy one, especially for the undisputable champions of 2011 - Anexis eSports. Everything started off in style with three out of three, but suddenly something clicked very wrong for the Hungarians. Rounds started to slip away, opponents receieved a major morale boost and that was a start of the beggining for our team. They managed to lose all matches until the end, eventually being sent home packing even though they won their matches against CRACKED and REFUSE.cz who secured their spot in the elimination bracket.
Everyone saw the shock, players look nervous when they contacted the admins to see the rule regulations because they did have the best round difference, but head-to-head results counted and Anexis found themselves eliminated even before the real deal started.
It is crucial to point that four out of five Czech teams managed to advance to the playoffs, which showed that their scene is really looking strong and consistent at the present moment.
Elimination bracket showed to be really easy for Western Wolves who lost only one map on their way to the title - mp_crash versus CRACKED. The mention Czech players were the biggest surprise of the tournament, placing second. The Finns of TeamESPC secured the last spot on the podium, getting €500 back to their home soil.
