The attendees also considered the future of Counter Strike: Source, discussing the future development of the title. Regarding the CS:GO, early in the announcement we knew that the game will feature new maps, characters, and weapons, delivering the updated versions of the classic CS content.

So we awaited the 30th of November, when the beta was scheduled to go live. The developer announcement was brief on twitter, saying:

The rumour mill said that the game will be mostly aimed at the console gamers, providing them the premier insight into Counter Strike: Source, and building up the market, adding some more competition between Call of Duty and Battlefield series.

"Targeted for release via Playstation Network, Xbox Live Arcade, and Steam (for PC and Mac) in early 2012, CS: GO will expand upon the team-based action gameplay that it pioneered when it was launched exactly 12 years ago."

The game will feature the same maps as the previous versions, with many more being added in the future, such as:
