Interview with Nuggi at ESWC in Paris

2After their unlucky fail to reach the playoffs, CS 1.6 Player Larsen 'Nuggi' Nicolaj answered me a few questions about his feeling and mind about the ESWC in Paris.

Hi Nuggi, first of all a special congratulation for your win against Na'Vi. Did you enjoyed your trip to paris and how was the atmosphere? |
The trip was great. We had a direct flight from Kopenhagen friday evening. When we arrived in Paris we went out for some food and afterwards went to bed at our hotel. Next morning we went out, to see the event. The atmosphere was unbelievable. It was definatly an amazing setup by the ESWC guys and there were so many people at the expo, so it was actually hard just to get in :)
Did you ever played in front of such a big crowd before? And how would you describe the feeling, playing in front of thousands of people?
Well, I actually think we played for a bigger crowd in China, althought there were more people here at ESWC. This is because at ESWC it was not that easy for spectators to stand behind the gaming area and watch. The setup was not that good for that. The only real matches, where it was possible for a big crowd to watch, were the matches played on the main stage. Unfortunatly we didn´t had the chance to play there, maybe next time :)
After finishing with an unlucky 3rd place in guangzhou, you missed the playoffs again in an unlucky way - What are your mistakes to give away your points that easily?
It's hard to say. To be honest, I think we should have won all the matches in our groupstage this time. We had a massive lead on defs but didn´t close the game. We talked a lot about that match and hopefully we will learn from this and maybe keep us a little more clam next time. When we are in a situation like that, we should maybe use a timeout when we start loosing 4-5 rounds in a row. Against WinFakt I think we had a perfect read on them in almost all rounds, but we keep making some small rookie mistakes, which they took advantage of and forced us into a lot of eco rounds. Again I think, we maybe should have stayed a little more cool in the rounds and just waited for them to come.

Anexis Part Ways With OrgLessFive

0Past weekend you witnessed one of the biggest eSport tournaments over the course of the year - ESWC. Alongside with our CounterStrike 1.6 powerside, we had a team of mercenaries called orgless5 in CS:Source tournament, looking into messing with the plans of the elite. Unfortunately, they didn't manage to bring their A game to the podium and they ended up being eventually eliminated in the groupstage.
The first look on their group didn't give much hope for the better income where, besides Team Verygames, the team was scheduled to compete against apeX-eSports, Reason Gaming, Team DSRack and Check-Six from United States.

CS 1.6 team remove player ptn
veröffentlicht am 25.10.2011 - 22:31 Uhr geschrieben von cros1x
4It's been a hectic month for our Counter Strike 1.6 where they attended two big events in a short notice. One of them being the IEM qualifier in Guangzhou and the other one just this weekend - ESWC. Unfortunately for them, and their loyal fans of course, they didn't manage to advance from groups from either of those events, with their dreams being scattered all over the place.
Statement by 1.6 player Snappi about the remove of player ptn
"Today we decided to part ways with ptn. When we started playing with ptn, we know we took a chance with a more unexperienced player. Ptn has done a good job for us, and always did his best in the matches. However we still feel like, we are missing the final key in the lineup. In the upcomming weeks we will search for the last player, and take our time to make the best choice possible. Hopefully it will work out as good as possbile, and finally will be able to play at our best in all our matches. We wish ptn good luck in the future, and hope he will soon find another team."
Marco 'Snappi' Pfeiffer
Over the course of last weekend we saw some really great moments by the Anexis roster, but there were some unexplainable mistakes that even them couldn't comprehend. So after the event, as it usually occurs, the team decided to sit down, talk through and determine what went wrong during the tournament, everything resulting with the departure of Mikkel "ptn" Sorensen who will be sorely missed.

Anexis bash Na'vi, eventually placing third in ESWC groupstage

3After the shambolic start in the groupstage by the Danes, with everyone already saying they're done, they are back in style with a dominant win over Ukrainian powerhouse of Natus Vincere. The event didn't start good for the team when they lost two games to WinFakt and Defining Stars. Especially the second game, where they had a comfortable 14-6 lead, and still managed to drop it.

Their third game was against Na'Vi, one of the favourites for the whole tournament, but still Anexis managed to settle few nice headshots and advance to the 11-4 score on half time. Ukrainians didn't start off really well second half, losing the straight pistol round, and eventually that was the end for them in this match.
